It is important to know exactly what size and fit of clothes you are looking for when shopping online or in your local stores. Not knowing your size simply means it will take much longer to find what you’re looking for a you will have to try on any more items than necessary. It’s true that many clothing manufacturers have different sizing, but clothes are usually returnable so knowing your measurements is enough. Most websites have a chart showing bust, waist, and hip measurements for women to help them judge the appropriate size to purchase.

Make sure you are holding the tape measure level when measuring yourself ; not letting it slip down in the back. Have a friend help you if possible. You can also measure clothes you already own which fits you well. Simply lie the garment flat, measure the waist, and double the number. This is your waist measurement. Remember, there is no guarantee that the clothing you purchase online will fit exactly as you envision. Make sure the online store of your choice has a clearly posted return policy and read it carefully. If they do not have a return policy anywhere on the website, more on to another more helpful store.
